    HI everyone,

I have a question for everyone. I have a spanned file on a p2 card. I eraesed the other p2 card before I know that I had spanned footage. I have been transferring to final cut pro on my lab top. The file will not transfer over but it is their and I can watch it.
My question, since the other footage is erased on the other p2 card all I need is the footage on this file on this p2 card. How do I get the footage on the P2 card.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi there.

When you add the spanned clip to the queue in the Log and Transfer Window does it give you some kind of error? Spanned or not, FCP should still be able to process the clip(s) on the card.

    As above, so below.

This doesn’t answer the problem, but an FYI. I just had to do a recapture of P2 material backed up on a hard drive. Although the method recommended by those here MOSTLY worked, there were issues with spanned files. Sometimes Log and Transfer would import immediately, sometimes I’d have to do the spanned files in a separate session. Sometimes a new partial file would be created. And out of hundreds of files, there were about 8 or 9 that never automatically imported. I had to manually do it.
