Thanks for the responses. I’ll see if I can get the suggestions to work – the problems of modifying an already created template…

Maybe I need to improve my reading skills, but I took the last few sentences as meaning “Don’t panic”, and that ProApps development would still continue.
But then that’s just me…

Yes Kevin. Sorry for not being clearer. I guess the question should be: are there any formats it doesn’t work with?

Thank you both. FYI:
The project was DVCPro 720P/24As it turns out, somewhere along the way (and the problem began after the project was returned from color grading), audio was apparently being imported at 25fps, rather than 24. Whether due to a project corruption or just an inadvertent setting change, this seems to have been the problem.
I began with a blank project, re-imported the audio and video files, and it seems all is well. Or at least until I post again. Thanks again.

Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately I had issues with the Handbrake exports: Either the video plays back in slomo (if I keep the same source fps settings), or else it just stutters and freezes (if I choose 29.97 as my output). And this was just on my late model MBP. Finally, even though I chose MP4 as my output choice, the file could not be read by the Samsung (LN52B750, for those curious) – even though other MP4 files are playable.
While I’m at it, I also tried doing an export of a different DVCPro HD project using the new Share function in FCP. I chose Blu-ray as my choice, and the file has the option that it can only be opened by Compressor. However even after 2 separate exports, I get: “Error trying to open source media file.” when I try importing the file into Compressor.
Sigh… (and thanks).

Thanks Dave & Todd. I’m an editor, not a compositor – meaning I know just enough to cause problems…
First, we decided to use white text again a black bg, with a few colored gfx sprinkled throughout. Next, I changed the original psd to 300 dpi, which noticeably helped the sharpness problem I first posted about. I also added the reduce interlace flicker filter, which we THOUGHT helped. So while the end titles look great in After Effects, and the QT export (Animation codec) also looks great when viewing in Quicktime, the problem has been in making the test DVDs.
When playing back the DVD, there’s a fringing around the edges of text and graphics. I finally tried using Kevin Camp’s position expression. Unfortunately while the timeline seems to play correctly, it does not end correctly – the scroll ends a few seconds before the last frame has passed the viewer. The scroll ends with thje last frame of image in the top third of the frame.
Finally, I’ve done different exports at both 24fps AND 29.97, and it doesn’t make a difference when viewing the DVD.
Is there ANYTHING else I can do?
Thanks again,

Thanks Kevin.
I’m returning to AE after awhile on Combustion and Motion, and just tried your expression on a title scroll I’m having problems with. The scroll started fine, but then began speeding up almost twice as fast. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Thanks Walter & Arnie. Since this project MIGHT end up with theatrical distribution, would I be better off using AE in terms of ending up with the best results in terms of picture quality?

Thanks Stephen. Much better luck, but still not a great/acceptable result. The shot is a shaky camera with a fast zoom in, so it is difficult. Still, I’ll give it another whirl as well as try on a different scene.
Will try to report back.
