Thanks Shane – I’ve heard there are issues with fx (even dissolves) and proxy files. Is this true?
It’s actually a moot point as I won’t be doing the project on a MBP, but still would like to know.

Thank you Ty. Unfortunately or not, this is the equipment I have – there won’t be anything else. Thanks for your initial suggestions. I’ll try the filters you suggest.

Hi Brett,
Thanks for the response. Apparently there is a way use an Avid MC with the ATI card in version 2.8. Several posts on the Avid forum describe how to go into legacy mode (holding down O & L) which will allow a MC to work without an NVidia card.It I don’t know if this is the case on an earlier MBP like yours or if it’s also true with Xpress Pros. It might work, and it might not. If it does, let us know.

To ditto David (sorry for the alliteration)… Apple demoed this exact scenario last week at the FCP World Tour. I tried it at home later that night as a test, and it looks like it actually does work.

Thanks Zane, hopefully this shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve been holding of doing an install of FCPS 2.0 (brand new) until I install Leopard. Same with the new MS Office, although this would be an upgrade.
