Sorry Josephine, I just assumed everyone can read my mind. It’s FCP 5.0, on Panther, and the problem occurs in the Viewer, Canvas and Timeline. This morning the first thing I did after launching the app was to try CTL+D and it worked. Once. After that I could never get it to work. Should I think of this as a bug?

Thanks. And yes, you can use Open in Editor to get the LiveType titles back into LiveType.

Thanks Bret, just seems to be silly not to be able to use marks. OTOH, this is coming from a discreet edit veteran, where scrubbing, play and marks were all possible in a bin. Still, glad some of it’s still in FCP.
