  • Impact Font missing on reinstall

Our IT guy did a complete reinstall of Panther, FCP 5 and LiveType. He did not install Motion or Soundtrack Pro. In any case, Impact, which I thought was part of the basic Mac system install, is missing from the font list in LiveType. Since the font is essential in our work, any suggestions on why it didn’t show up, and/or how to obtain it? Thanks.

See if a CMD-F search for the Impact font shows it hiding somewhere; use the Typebook app and it may show up as being on the drive but not installed in a /Library/Fonts directory. If it does appear in TypeBook’s list, you may just need to use the “install” button to reactivate it.

Thanks Chuck – CMD+F & Install did the trick.
