I agree with trashing and erasing periodically, but I have media from long term projects on my XServe RAID that I can’t trash. Would you recommend defragmentation as an option to full erase?Lee

I run the suite of tests in Tech Tool when I’m not busy. Tests hardware and software.

I use an APC XS 1000 an XS 800. The larger is for my XServe RAID and the other is for my G-5 and Monitor.

Your welcome. I actually like that function, especially for documentary work where I capture long sections of tape. It helps avoid the lengthy process of subclipping and lets me trash any false starts or useless shots. I hope Apple will add it to the SD capture in the next version.

In the HDV capture windows in the clip setting tab there is the option to create new clips on camera start/stop. It’s not an option on the SD capture function.

You can open Ac3 in MPEG Streamclip. You have to use the Demux function to save as Aif, etc.

A client of mine shot 60i with the H2 and we tried unsuccessfully to play it on Sony’s HVRM25U HDV deck. We had to use his H2 to capture the footage.
