People on FCP forum told me that Canon have a problem with “proprietary HDV format” which can be only played on Canon cameras. I wanna buy XH-A1 so I wonder is that true? Some ppl say that is only in 24f mode

I do remember shooting *60i* footage with a Sony Z1U and then playing back that footage in a Canon H1 successfully and vice-versa… it is the Canon 24F footage that is not compatible.

A client of mine shot 60i with the H2 and we tried unsuccessfully to play it on Sony’s HVRM25U HDV deck. We had to use his H2 to capture the footage.
