Your wife will like you more is you spend less. I own this one and the image is great and it is only $800 instead of the $1300.

Wow 32 are coming out. I could not imagine using a 32 gig card. I still shoot with 4 gigs because 1 card fits on 1 dvd-r disc nicely. Since I got the camera 18 months ago I really have monitored what I shoot and try not to get to much useless stuff.30 second commercials I only use 8 minutes to get the footage I need at DV50 quality.
This stuff fills your hard drives. Now instead of having tapes in my closet it’s piling up with hard drives.
Wow, 32 gig cards. Are there prices yet?

Here is a thread on the red rock micro site from one of the guys that made the film. He talks about why they shot 720. This thread is 3 pages long so you will have to go through it.

Hey Clint, I would go this week to see the film. I don’t think it will be in theaters that long. Just go to Fandango.com and type the name of the film in and search your area. From what I read it was launching into 2500 theaters. but you may need to drive a ways if you live some place small.
It was fun to see what it looks like on the big screen for those people who are hopping to have their movies transfered to film and projected.

This may be the best answer for you. Go see the film “Sarah Landon’s Paranormal Hour”, It opened last night Oct 19th.
This film was shot on the HVX-200 using the M2 adapter by Red Rock Micro. They shot it in 720p, but there are 2 shots that were aerials that were shot with a different camera I read and I think they were shot 1080 and you should tell that they were cleaner. 720p looked a lot softer then the other 2 shots but it still looked OK.
After watching that film last night, and if I were to have to pick a format for HD to film with this camera it would be 1080pa. I could see both 720 and 1080 in the film and could tell the difference.
Everyone who wants to see this should go see this film this week, it won;t be in theaters for ever.

I use the M2 adapter and have about 4 lenses for it. the HD bundle does not come with 35mm lenses. It comes with a small lens that screws on to your HVX-200 to allow you to focus on an image about 3 inches away from the camera, the focal plane inside the M2 box.
If you are use to setting up the HVX and shooting quickly those days are over. It takes me about 30 minutes to set up the unit with HD monitors, cables, focusing, cleaning 7 different lens surfaces and stuff.
It is hard to hand hold with out a rig like the one from http://www.zacuto.com . But the image that it produces with the HVX-200 is amazing. Here is a 6 minute piece I did with the M2 and the HVX and Magic Bullet Look suite.
