O very cool. Late last night I went to the Maxon Website and I saw a tutorial on the shadow in the FAQ section. That seemed to work but adding it to the multipass rendering sounds like a better way. When I went to bed last night I started my render which took 6 hours to finish and now when I get up in the mornign I need to render the shadow pass. So by usign MultiPass it would have taken care of everything and I wouldn;t have to render out a second time this mornign then???
Thanks!

It was in the tag. I found it though. I need to go to the other place you mentioned.
Thanks for the help!

I didn’t know that feature existed, very nice. I am wondering one thing though. Will my Photoshop lable have to be the exact size of the selected polygons or can I select glass for the bottle and then pu the label on the bottle and have the outer edges of the polygons share the Glass and Lable textures?
thanks.

I agree with Noah. Also to me the most important thing to remember is your telling a story. Secondly don’t shoot for the stars on your projects. I can;t tell you how many projects I have seen fall threw the cracks because people got in over their heads and can’t finish.
A good story can be shot with anything.

THis is something that I aksed a while ago too. I was shooting with a pd100a using a Bogan legs and head. The legs I belive were the 3011 I forget the video head but it was a standard screw in type not a quick release. It was perfect for the pd100a that I had and I use it for the hvx right now but I want to replace it. Now the camera shakes more when I grab it and do a zoom in or out. It is anoying and I had to be more gental with it. the legs and head came to around $450 when I bought them new. I’m hoping that I can use the legs and get a beefy’r head. I will take the camera to the store and try it out n different tri pods to be sure.

Is there a reason why QT for windows can’t support the DVCpro Codec? Is that Apples problem?

I hear you brother. I shot a job a while back and turned over the footage to a person who was on a PC and he could not view the footage. I had to transcode the footage an give it to him that way.
I thought for sure you could download the DVCPRO codec and drop it into Quuicktime. This is a pretty standard thing from compaines that have hardware encoding like BlackMagic. Go to their website and you can download a software codec that works with computers that don’t have a hardware card in thier machine.
Panasonic on the other hand does not release that codec to make life easier for people who do shot and release the footage to clients. I have complained about it before in other posts that they should release it. This was the first time I also had come accross it because companies have almost always been willing to offer software codecs to support their products. Even a read only codec would work to protect Panasonic from people writing to this codec if that is the problem. But only Pany knows why they made it this way.
Would you like a steering wheel with your car?

Ya That I figured out as I was setting it up. It didn’t matter though. I just had to have something for them to lock to for the capture and it worked just fine.
Thanks,

I finaly got it to work. I had to put the HVX200 into a Free Run Timecode. All that comes set to off. I was use to a more basic camera that that did everything by it’s self, even if the camera laid down it’s own TC. But I got it to work and now I know for the future.
thanks!

Ahh that would be cool. Also I was wondering I have not broken the Tabs on the battery holder yet. But every time I take it off and put it on it is on my mind. My question is, can I send in my camera to have the re inforced battery holder put on or added? if I wait until the camera is out of warrenty and they break then I will have to pay for it myself I would think.
