That rotating worked out thanks! It need some tweeking to get it the way I wanted. You would think this would be easy in C4D but it’s not.

    thanks again.

I have heard good things about the M2. I ordered mine last Monday and it should be here Nov. 1st. If you do order one for the HVX you need the adaptor ring and shim kit. I to got the Nikon set up and when it comes I will take it down to the local camera shot and test the different lenses before I buy.

When I finish the job it will go on to an SD DVD but the version for the station I allways take that down on a Jump Drive and load the QT file into their Avids.I shot some test footage today and I will play around with the different versions from the camera and see what works the best before I do it. Again my concern is not shooting in HD or dropping it off at the station It’s HD to SD conversion and it 1080i 30p will work or just shoot at 720p 60p.

I guess I will find out.

    Thanks for the insight.

You don’t want to use Edje’s. They are the bottom of the line work horses and don’t do HD Your looking at the Soloist unit which is HD I think. My edje’s I bought for $1200 each with a large order. $1500 by them selfs. I saw them at the NAB and they are very cool.

Jeremy, might I recommend this company. https://www.adtecinc.com/

I use them and own 15 edje units. The sole purpose for these units are to decompress Mpeg 2 files. Adtec in the last year has relased a number of HD players that use the new H.264 codecs. I saw them at NAB and the HD stuff is very cool and great for playback on plasma screens. Check them out.

As for my other question I should have given more info on my gear, sorry. I edit on a G5 tower but I have a Powerbook in the feild and transfer my P2 footage to that while on shoots. I edit with FCP and only FCP. My mind tells me that I should shoot 720p since I can scale it down to SD but I also know the camera can shoot 30p in 1080i mode. It still confuses me shooting in a P format in an i stream if I got that right.

My concern is interlacing when I scale down.

October 23, 2006 at 7:58 pm in reply to: render is balck?

I did check that and they were both set to view normaly. I dropped a simple cube in right next to my model and rendered. The cube showed up in the render but my object did not. I finally delete it and re imported it and it worked.

    Thanks for you insight.
