There will be no Blackmagic XDCAM HD codec. The easy setups are using components already installed in FCP. Email me offlist at support[at]blackmagic-design.com with information about the frame rate of your XDCAM HD video and I’ll be happy to send you an easy setup.

Hi Eli,

You can also try modifying an 8-bit easy setup to use the XDCAM HD codec. You should be using an 8-bit output so in View > Video Display, select an 8-bit option that matches your framerate.

[wawaii] “I got a Mac Quad, with a DeckLink HD Pro installed. Aters a few days of purchase, I had to reboot 3 to 4 times for it to fully start-up. Now, all I see is a black screen(HD Mac LCD monitor) and hear a loud Fan noise. As soon as I take out the DeckLink out, it starts back with no problem.

What version of drivers do you have installed?

Have you tried a different slot in the Quad?

What settings are you using in Final Cut Pro to capture? If you’re capturing to a compressed codec, does it make a difference if you use an uncompressed codec?

What kind of crash is happening with Photoshop?

Does it come up with the window prompting you to email Microsoft? If so, can you click on the show report option and let us know what the error is?

You need to configure your porject using our easy setups. Make sure your View > Video Display option matches the timeline. DVCPRO HD clips will use the 8-bit video display options.

Yes the settings will affect your monitoring. They will turn on down conversion which means you’ll be monitoring in SD instead of HD.
