Hi Borjis,

Not possible as the hardware required is different and will not be upgradable by firmware. The 30″ requires a dual link DVI-D connection while the HDLink has single link DVI-D.

Yes. the Multibridge Extreme will work as a stand alone converter. You might need to set it up while connected via USB using the included Multibridge Utility software but once that is done, the settings will stick and you don’t have to have it connected to your PC/Mac anymore.

You can do this if you’re capturing via the component output of your camera via the Multibridge Pro or Extreme. You have the choice of going to uncompressed (8 or 10-bit) as well as DVCPRO HD. It’s as simple as choosing the matchin easy setups in Final Cut Pro. However, if you’re going to be capturing uncompressed HD, you’ll need fast drives and fw800 ones will not cut it. The data rate is about 160MB/sec for 10-bit HD at 1080i60.

Hi James,

It’s the same as DVCPRO HD.

Just choose the settings in the View > Video Playback. e.g. If it’s HDV 1080i60, select “Blackmagic HDTV 1080i 29.97 – 8 Bit (1920 x 1080)”.

Hi,

If you’re going to be capturing HD-SDI, you’ll need a HD capable card such as the DeckLink HD Extreme. The DeckLink Extreme is an SD card and won’t do HD. If you want to capture 4:4:4 RGB HD, you’ll need a dual link HD-SDI product like the DeckLink HD Pro PCIe or Multibridge Extreme.

We provide a standalone capture application called Blackmagic Deck Control. It’s currently Quicktime based on both Windows and Mac. You can capture to the Apple Uncompressed 4:2:2 codec (bundled with the drivers) as well as our Blackmagic RGB 4:4:4 codec. Unfortunately, we do not have Linux support.

Hi,

If you use a 1080p23.98 clip, it has to be in a 1080p23.98->59.94 easy setup timeline. This pulls down the video to 59.94 before down converting to NTSC. your footage remains untouched but the down converted output will be interlaced.
