There are some framerates we do not support but we do look into that as demand grows for it.

Could you tell me how you’re capturing 720p24 from the BR-HD50 via component analog? The deck applies pull down to 720p24 and 720p30 HDV clips on tape on the analog component outputs so you’re getting 720p60 video. 720p24 (or 30) currently exists only in the digital domain which is why you’ll need to use firewire to bring it in.

Hi,

As we upgrade the drivers, it maybe necessary to update the firmware of the card. These firmware are distributed with the driver installation and you don’t need an internet connection.

If you don’t update the firmware, then the new drivers will not be able to talk to the card.

Hi,

SDI is a digital video connection and most HDTVs do not come with such support. There’s a Panasonic HDTV that has this option but it’s costly.

The HD Extreme does not output HD and SD video simultaneously. For that you’ll need either

a) HD Pro PCI-X
b) Multibridge Extreme

Hi,

Could you send us a frame or two in the original as well as the rendered clip which demonstrates this issue? Are you using the File > Export > Quicktime Movie option Final Cut Pro?

Have you also tried:

a) Rendering to a different drive
b) Checking the status of the memory in your system. There’s a freeware RAM checker called Rember which you can find on Macupdate.com. I’ve come across artefacts in rendered video caused by corrupted memory.

We are aware of issues like this with the Mac as there’s an integration between Final Cut Pro and our RS-422 serial port. However, I’m not aware of this issue on the PC but I’ll check this one out and get back to you.

Hi Sam,

I would strongly encourage you to update to our v6.1 drivers. There was some deliberate enhancements in the v6.x drivers which will help in this issue. Please update and then email me at support[at]blackmagic-design.com to let me know if it resolves the insert to tape problem.

The trick is to get the insert to tape down to a constant offset so adjustments can be made in Final Cut Pro’s playback offset.

Hi Rick,

Sure. It will playback just fine as long as your storage is fast enough so you can work on it in Final Cut Pro or view it in Quicktime player on a system without a DeckLink card.
