Hi Mark,

Intensity Pro will play out the media at 59.94i with pulldown in real time. You just have to use a 1080p23.98 timeline with the Intensity 1080i59.94 playback output in Final Cut Pro’s “View > Video Display” option.

What format are you sending out from Photoshop CS3? SD NTSC, 1080 or 720?

Hi Michael,

The Intensity card has the same output quality as the HD Pro, just not the SDI connections. If you’re not too concerned with capturing and only need an analog output option, the Intensity Pro card will be the one to get.

You’ll need an S-video adapter as all the analog outputs of the breakout cable from the Intensity Pro are RCA females. More information about the breakout cable is mentioned here:

For composite or component cables, you’ll also need the normal RCA cables.

This sounds like copyright protection kicking in. What is the HDMI source? Some devices put HDCP on the HDMI output even though the media is not copy protected.

The lowest cost option is the Intensity Pro card at US$349. Gives you HDMI I/O, Component (HD and SD)/Composite (SD)/S-Video (SD) I/O. With this, you can monitor out to consumer type plasmas or HDTV via HDMI or Component. Or you can even go component HD to a broadcast monitor if you want.

One step up will be the DeckLink HD Extreme (US$995). This gives you HD-SDI/SDI-DI, Component (HD and SD)/Composite (SD)/S-Video (SD) I/O.

If you need both HDMI I/O and SD/HD-SDI, then have a look at the Multibridge Pro (US$1595).

Hi Mike,

Is it possibly a disk speed issue? What format is you HD timeline and what kind of drives are you playing them back from? Note that 8-bit Uncompressed HD requires about 120 Mb/sec from your drive.
