Intensity Pro monitoring of 23.98 with FCP
I have not been able to find any information about this on Blackmagic’s website (and they have not responded to me by email for a few days), so thought I’d ask here.
Is there any viable output workflow for 23.98 footage from an HV20 with FCP? Specifically, I’m looking to capture HDV 1080i59.94, transcode to ProRes with reverse telecine to 1080p23.98, and then be able to monitor through the Intensity Pro out to a Component HD monitor.
I hear hints that the Intensity Pro can play out 23.98, but since I haven’t heard officially, thought perhaps you guys might know from experience. It really doesn’t matter to me if the component out is 23.98p or 59.94i with live pulldown added, just so long as I can see it.
I do not have the card yet, as I’m trying to answer this question first. Thanks for any help!

Hi Mark,
Intensity Pro will play out the media at 59.94i with pulldown in real time. You just have to use a 1080p23.98 timeline with the Intensity 1080i59.94 playback output in Final Cut Pro’s “View > Video Display” option.
