I am currently running Adobe Production Premium on a BOXX 7400. My current configuration consists of two PNY Nvidia 540’s with a pro verison. This allows me 2 VGA monitors and an NTSC output. The 540’s are not capable of Open GL 2.0 (which AE CS3 likes to use) and the NTSC output is not the greatest (it’s a bit fuzzy) I want to replace my 540’s with a Nvidia 1700 and then get either a Intensity pro or HD pro. I’ll be using it mainly to view the Source and output monitors in PPro CS3. I work mainly in SD DVCAM but will be doing projects in the very near future in HDV. I capture via firewire so I’m not too worried about using the card to capture. I was hoping someone could fill me in on the quality of the picture from these two cards – which one has the better picture and if there are any other advantages to incorporating one of these into my system? Also any possible drawbacks? I use a SOny HR Trinitron to monitor the output so I can take, S, composite & Componenet.

    Hi Michael,

The Intensity card has the same output quality as the HD Pro, just not the SDI connections. If you’re not too concerned with capturing and only need an analog output option, the Intensity Pro card will be the one to get.

Thanks Kristian, I was kind of leaning that way – especially with the price difference.
