Unfortunately, it’s not possible with Quicktime as ironically, it does not provide Quicktime VOUT required to address 3rd party video hardware.

Also, the Spyder should be generating a Colorsync profile for you monitor but that will not be useful when the monitor is not connected to your graphics card.

Hi,

I can go on the record and say that we are committed to CS4 support but there are major architectural changes going from CS3 to CS4 which requires a lot of work to be done. Unfortunately, we can’t provide a date at this point as there are factors beyond our control which will affect when we can ship. Hopefully, I will have more information in the next few days.

As for us going belly up? Sorry, we’re planning to hang around for a while 😉

Bigger files does not mean you get better quality. I think the best way to go is to judge with your own eyes as to how the quality compares. One difference between the BMD MJPEG and DVCPRO HD is that the MJPEG is 1920×1080 while DVCPRO HD is only 1440×1080 or 1280×1080.

If the Intensity preference pane is grayed out, then it’s very likely that the card is not detected by your Mac. Is it showing up in the Apple System Profile under the PCI section?

If you use the capture now option, you don’t need RS422 control and subsequently, don’t have to use the incoming TC.

Hi,

Yes, you can use Blackmagic Deck Control, which is a free application that is installed along with our driver. It will capture from the Blackmagic card’s input to DV. It should be in your Applications folder.

The G5 will handle this fine.
