Not really. It’s just a presentation mode. The file is untouched at all. You can change the settings back to “Classic” if you find any issues while re-compressing the clip in Quicktime.

Hi Robert,

If the output frequency is indeed 75Hz, then that’s most likely the issue. You’ll need to ensure that you send a video frequency and not a “computer” type frequency.

Hi Paul,

What is the current version of drivers you have installed?

I’m not sure about the issues with analog input but the HDMI output from your DVD player is very likely encrypted and will not allow us to capture from it. This is applicable even if you’re playing your own created DVDs.

Hi Patrick,

In OS X’s System Preferences, you should see a DeckLink or Blackmagic preference pane. Select that and make sure NSTC/PAL video is the option you are using for Input.

Hi Ken,

Final Cut Pro stores the easy setup lists in cache files and the only way to get it to update is to blow away those cache files after a software update.

However, if you want your easy setups to show up in the easy setup menu, put an asterisk * at the end of the file name.

Hi Noor,

You should be using the output processing option in the Blackmagic preferences instead of trying to put a 1080i50 into a PAL timeline in Final Cut Pro. This means using a 1080i50 project in Final Cut Pro and let our drivers handle the down conversion to PAL.
