Hi Georg,
Yes you will be able to do so. The DVI output will be HD while the YUV out will be in SD when you enable down conversion on the analog outputs. There’s a post here previously with some information about down conversion choices:

You drop an uncompressed Quicktime movie into the application icon, it mounts a virtual disk image with the individual frames as DPX files.
You double click the application, it prompts you for a Quicktime format which is then mounted as a virtual disk image on your desktop. You drop DPX files into the disk image and a corresponding Quicktime movie on the desktop gets updated.

File > Export > Blackmagic Image Export
Hold down the option key while selecting the option in the menu if you want to change format.

You key over a live video going into the DeckLink card’s input. The output of the card has the video + the image you’re keying combined.

It has got to do with how After Effects read 8 bit YUV files or something like that. Basically a software issue and not hardware related.

Also, I would suggest upgrading to OS X 10.4.5 as you might run into issues with Motion 2 in OS X 10.4.3.
Are you using the default DVI cable provided by Dell? Do you have any other displays to test the DVI output of the Multibridge with?

Is this with a particular format or all formats. When the desktop fails to display, what do you have to do to get it back up?

It looks like the same issue with Aperture and Motion in 10.4.3 that Apple fixed in 10.4.4. We’ll need to talk to Apple about it.

We no longer manufacture the DeckLink HD as one of the components we require is no longer available from the supplier. The DeckLink HD Plus card is now our base model HD card.

You’ll need plenty of tape after the last shot in order to do what you want to achieve. The trick is not to use up the whole tape when or you’ll have trouble capturing.

In this case, can you send us a crash report when you get the chance?

iChat goes through the Quicktime device list alphabetically and tries to grab the 1st one it comes across, which is ‘Blackmagic’. Launching Log and Capture in FCP grabs hold of the Blackmagic device even when FCP is relegated to the background, hence iChat will skip the Blackmagic device and go on to iSight.

This is true. However, Blackmagic Deck Control does not hold on to the Blackmagic device when it is not active. The moment you switch to iChat, you’re back to square one again.
