What Chris means by “Final Delivery” is the specification of the file format and framerate of the video you are giving you client, or posting to YouTube ect.
You have many options in PrPro and I would suggest in upgrading to at least 5.5 but preferably CS6 as you will be able to work with both framerates in one timeline.

Your best bet would be to buy an inexpensive USB drive to move the file. Burning a DVD is not the most efficient or cost effective way way of moving data around. Just the time spent in burning the disk is wasted when you could be doing something more productive.

That was my question as well, DVD video is SD mpeg2 compression and 2 hours at a bit rate of 4mbps will yield you a file just over 4GB. H.264 is a much more efficient encoding scheme than mpeg2 and should give you better results and taking up 40-60Mb per min. Are you just trying to encode for delivering a file? If so invest in a drive to move the file around. There is no reason to to place it on an optical disk that I can think of. Please share what your deliverable specs are and we maybe we can help some more.

There is no batch export option in the current version of PrPro. You have to send them to AME individually. However you can queue them up and perform one batch in AME.

Just make sure you log out and disable the ability to log back in casually as in that mode you are actually running at the root level of the OS.
It’s a good way to diagnose if it is a problem with the OS, your user profile, or the app

Sometimes issues like this appear out of nowhere, ghost in the machine. If you log into the superuser account you can troubleshoot if it is the app itself. If the app loads and works in the superuser account ( or another users account if you don’t want to mess with the superuser) you know that the problem is not PrPro but rather some other conflict in your system.
Try that first before you start thinking of re-installing PrPro

Honestly, the original text does not look much better. Compressing text is not as easy as it sounds because of the static hard lines. Your best bet is to recut the sections that need it with new text. If that is not possible keep playing with encoding settings until you find one that looks good at a bit rate that you can afford.
Are you exporting to the same frame size (resolution) or are you scaling the image up or down?

Possibly a timecode issue. Can you open any other project without getting the error? if so you can be sure that it is project or source related. If not then I would look at the application, however i don’t think that the app is the problem

With risking sounding egalitarian, you should really update to the newest version on PrPro. I noticed much better DL performance with CS6. One of the bigger benefits for DL is the shared memory pool which manages RAM allocation between the active programs.
Something to look at, without knowing what the error is saying, is the length of your timeline. In my experience, linking an entire timeline to AE is not an optimal workflow, I have done this and regretted it later (many times) before i realized that if I need to link for graphics and VFX I could just either nest my sequence, cut the timeline up into regions that need gfx and DL only those regions.

Hi tom,
I’m old school and render almost everything out of AE using the animation codec. Some other folks will probably have better solutions. Do not use H.246 or anything else that has an efficient encoding algorithm because it will not re-compress very well. You will want to maintain as much resolution of the native file as possible.
