I edit all my footage in premiere and then I simply right click and select “replace with after effects composition”. However, it gives me an error regarding Adobe Dynamic Link. I am using adobe master collection CS5. Please help because this problem has been here for a while, and it was never solved the last time I posted…

With risking sounding egalitarian, you should really update to the newest version on PrPro. I noticed much better DL performance with CS6. One of the bigger benefits for DL is the shared memory pool which manages RAM allocation between the active programs.

Something to look at, without knowing what the error is saying, is the length of your timeline. In my experience, linking an entire timeline to AE is not an optimal workflow, I have done this and regretted it later (many times) before i realized that if I need to link for graphics and VFX I could just either nest my sequence, cut the timeline up into regions that need gfx and DL only those regions.

Some more information on what it is that you are trying to accomplish and how you are doing it would help us in helping you.

Matt…are you Dynamic Linking the entire PPro timeline to AE?

If so, I misunderstood…not what Dynamic Link was designed for…

Matt, its true that CS5 PrP/AE dynamic link has issues that CS6 doesnt have and a real good reason to upgrade. But I was still able to get it to work when I used CS5.
Are you sending individual clips to AE or the entire timeline?
