One way to help point out to DG that they may have a problem (assuming they do) is to get a (reputable) 3rd party QC report indicating black levels etc, and send that on with your file. At least that way they might have a second look.

“Avid cannot import images larger than your project resolution.”

Actually it can, using the Pan & Zoom tool. Using the ultra HQ render setting it looks just as good as an AE export, if not better ‘cos you don’t have to leave Avid to do it.

Mine has been doing this intermittently as well… for no apparent reason, particularly when exiting for the day.

If you have any firewire devices hooked up, disconnect them and if you’re connected to a unity turn your airport off. Set your auto save for as frequently as you can stomach… just in case.

Might not be the be-all end-all fix but it has reduced it for me.

Quicktime 7.6 is the most likely culprit. Especially if it’s messing with a Source export. I have seen this before. Re-install quicktime to 7.5.5 and then turn off software updates.

I use the filtering options and for some reason it always resets on a new project. Drives me nuts! Hope it works for you.

Maybe do the titles in Photoshop and import them?

I’ve seen this around the traps….

Seems to work quite well and can easily run on iMac or Mac Mini.

You could also copy the original camera tape with new, continuous timecode.
