Hi,
First of all thanks for providing the tutorials..Started the Maya one as the other links dont work for me. Problem is that only three sections of the tutorial show as links and I cant click on the others. Also when in the rainbow or hat modelling section I cant click the link at the bottom of the page to proceed to the next page. Is the tutorial complete or are you updating it in stages..
I know you may be having technical difficulties with the host but was just wondering about the other issues with the Maya tutorial. Will wait till its sorted, looks good though,
Many thanks. -
I looked at that clip, I don’t think their is any special technique other than creative editing. You have to create markers in your comp that match the beats of the music and then cut to those markers in an editing program. Quicker edits create a faster pace. The jump cuts can be done by removing a few frames (maybe 10 or so) at a time from a piece of footage that is zooming and put the left over frames together and hold for a slong a s you need.

You cannot turn these images into vectors if they are not graphics and are just photos. They cannot zoom past 100% without quality loss. You need to get higher resolution source material if possible.
If you cand you can try fading or blurring slightly as the images scale, this would lessen the blockiness. Some jpegs will come with paths attached to them which you can see in photoshop, if they have a path that outlines the alpha then you should set the continously rasterize switch in AE. However if their is an image it will pixellate above 100% of its scale.

Thanks,
If using the 3 circles example as before would I have to precompose the three layers then apply the loop out expression to what parameter?
If I have to do this I may as well just use interpret footage and loop from there although I am not sure you can loop precomps in this way without rendering out. Which parameter do I apply the expression to?
Sorry bout this, new to expressions.

Maybe you could export from video editing software as consecutive stills then animate the layers in 3d space to come to rest at equal intervals ie. every frame.
