You can import Premiere Pro project files into one “master” project. You can pull in others sequences that way.

I agree we can do more with standard effects (we don’t call them filters, BTW), and transitions. Please make a feature request for the specific effects you’d like to see in the standard installation of Premiere Pro: https://www.adobe.com/go/wish

FYI, certain foundries that were popular with FCP users cannot create plug-ins for Premiere Pro easily. They are reliant upon Quartz Composer technology which can’t create plug-ins for Windows users. We didn’t see many good effects (both standard and 3rd party) in FCP until Quartz Composer came along.
You should be able to edit with media stored on a SAN. We don’t have any file lockout capabilities built in to Premiere Pro yet. Make a request for that, as well.

I’m not an engineer, so I really can’t answer why a certain feature is not implemented the way you expect it to work. All I can suggest is to make a feature request. We actually read them and implement ones that matter most to our users.Sorry I can’t give you a clearer rundown.

There is no way to change certain settings for certain sequence presets.
Solution: Make a new sequence in the same project with the correct settings and copy all the contents from the original sequence and paste into the correct one.

Premiere Pro doesn’t have a keyboard shortcut for skipping forward or backward by 1 second. Only frame by frame or +/- 5 frames. Personally, I rarely used that shortcut when I was on FCP7 and prior. Only when clients said something like, “Skip forward 5 seconds,” or something. Instead, I use JKL for scrubbing around clips.

You can target destination video and audio with keyboard shortcut. You can also toggle the source video and audio on and off. Basically, you can do everything you want with keyboard shortcuts except for moving the source button to other tracks. I would love to see that feature, as well.

In general, avoid QT. It’s still 32bit and will forever be. It will slow performance. Stay native as much as possible.

We have it as a keyboard shortcut now. You have to map it though. It’s called “Toggle Audio During Scrubbing.”
[Bret Williams] “And stopping the timeline so often, that’s the kind of thing that should be a preference. Not audio scrubbing. If I want to stop the timeline, I’ll press stop. “
Premiere Pro CS6 doesn’t stop playback for almost everything. Unfortunately, when skipping ahead in the Timeline, it will stop playback. Skipping ahead with no stop is a FCP behavior, for sure. Please make a feature request: https://www.adobe.com/go/wish
