All you need to worry about. NOT true about FireWire drives though. You should always unmount before shutting down or unplugging.

Obviously, you guys have never read my posts. 😉

NEVER been a fan of the DSR-11. Shuttling is slow. Getting tape on and off the heads is slow. No must have features such as TC preset or even a TC LED readout.

The DSR-45 is a better deck by FAR. IMHO, the DSR-11 is for those that can’t afford a deck with more pro features. If the DSR-45 was closer in price, most people would definitely prefer it.

Back in the Beta SP days would you rather have a UVW deck or a PVW deck? You see my point?

It’s funny how guys’ egos are tied in with their gear purchases. And I’m just as bad as the lot of ya! 😉

Export the clip as an image sequence to Photoshop.
Batch process the images in Photoshop with Actions.
Import the image Sequence into QT.
Export it as the codec in your sequence.
Import into FCP.
Edit into Timeline.

This technique is explained in my book.

Are you guys saying that you can edit DVCPro HD on external FireWire 400 drives or a single SATA drive? I’ve always thought you needed more horsepower.
