Best way to make a credit roll
Posted by Nelson May on April 18, 2006 at 1:18 pmI have the Apple certified FCP manual and it has a crawl, but my options are only left and right. I can’t find another way. Should I use motion or live type? If so can you lead me to the steps in the one you think best?

April 18, 2006 at 1:40 pmUse Boris 3D to type the credit roll, then use your Motion tab settings (Center) to roll the credits vertically.
Ensure that your Sequence Settings are set to Best under Video Processing.

April 18, 2006 at 1:59 pm“Title 3D” and “Title Crawl” (both from Boris) are included with FCP on the FCP install discs.
They should be in your choices of Title generators in FCP.
If not, you can install them from your original FCP install disc(s).

April 18, 2006 at 6:24 pmI finished my Roll in Boris and It look pretty good. I haven’t dug too deep, but I had to individually set my margins when centering text…e.g. actor…name…..director….name.
Other than that, I picked a yellow-orange color against black background and it looks great for my needs.

April 20, 2006 at 12:23 amCan you insert graphic elements into Title 3D? What if you need logos, etc? Off to PhotoShop or AE then?
