Tried Soundtrack Pro?
There are specialty music libraries made specifically for trailers. But they’re pretty expensive. Maybe a trailer editor will pipe in?

Did you see if any of your other apps are having this issue with your fonts?
I’d check that out.If everything else seems good, you might try the following in order and one at a time:
Repair Disk Permissions with Disk Utilities
Rebuild your directory with Disk Warrior
Reinstall FCP
Do a “Clean” Re-install of OS XIf all else fails:
Do a full erase and install of OS X
Reinstall FCPKevin Monahan

If no fonts show up, it’s pointing to a corruption of some kind. Again, trash your prefs and let us know if your fonts return. Let us know.

Let’s get the bonehead stuff outta the way first:
Can you see video in the external monitor?
Are your A/V presets set to DV NTSC?
Is your View menu set to External Video > All Frames?
Have you upgraded anything lately, especially OS X or QT?Kevin Monahan

Regular text generators are dead to man, DEAD. 😉 Haven’t used ’em since FCP 2.
Regardless of how krappy they are, and how much you really should avoid them nowadays they should still work for down and dirty junk.
“When animals attack”….trash yer prefs then post back.

July 24, 2006 at 8:16 pm in reply to: Boris Text Generator Not Giving All Text in Final Credit RolliMovie? Nah, you don’t need to go that far. Plus, what do you do next time you have a roll? Fix what you have before looking into workarounds. Since both FCP and Boris generators are giving you trouble, it may be time to trash those nasty prefs.
Title Crawl is usually bulletproof. You ARE using Title Crawl and NOT Title 3D right? You should be.

We use the AJA IOLA for Beta. It works great for us, and it’s portable. Blackmagic Design has inexpensive
component analog cards too. If you’re not thinking of the possible future need for a card, the Decklink from
Blackmagic might be the cheapest high-quality way.Decklink and AJA products running on MacIntel yet? I don’t think so. Component analog cards? There ain’t no MacIntel towers yet, so there ain’t no cards working with that which does not yet exist. 😉
For now, just get a camcorder or DV deck and patch it through to the beta deck via S-Video. You’ll need a RS-422 cable in addition to the USB to serial adapter as well.
Once the products are compliant, I would prefer a capture card vs a the IO. I just can’t stand FireWire latency you find in Io products. There’s never been a good workaround for that one issue. Can’t hide from FireWire latency regardless of the device.

July 24, 2006 at 8:04 pm in reply to: Excess Chroma, Broadcast Safe Filter & the VectorscopeColor correct the proper way: shot by shot. The BS filter is only for “fail-safe” purposes. You don’t do it shot by shot? That ain’t right.

You got your head wrapped around auto-select yet? 🙂
Match Frame is auto select sensitive. So first things first.
Auto select the proper track and then strike Shift F.That’ll get you back in the zone.
