If you need to evaluate the quality in QT, you need to enable the High Quality flag in QT. This is done automatically when viewing on a video monitor.

Good Point. As an educator, the rules for fair use are much more lenient – unfortunately, the studios don’t care about education.

Footage shot with the Canon seems to exhibit this anomaly. Especially if you capture entire tapes. I suggest you capture short and discrete clips if derived from the Canon. I believe the problem is worse when you don’t capture from the camcorder itself.

Yeah guys, I’ve heard of these packages, but I know this trailer editor that recently moved up here to SF. I did some one on one training with him. At his studio, he had HUGE libraries of SFX and stock music made specifically for trailer editing. Stuff I’d never seen before. So, it’s out there.
Anyone on this forum a trailer editor? What specialty packages do you use?

Let me guess…this is a clip captured from a Canon camcorder. In the Browser Column for audio sample rate, what does it say for that clip?
