cinematize 2
Posted by Ben Oliver on July 26, 2006 at 1:40 pmhey guys, ben here,
i do a lot of work with dvds as source material, both “store bought” and created. (we always get the rights, no worries)
i was wondering if cinematize 2 pro is any good, currently i either capture the dvds thru my deck in realtime, or i use a mixture of mpeg streamclip and mac the ripper.
thanks
-ben

July 26, 2006 at 2:21 pmI use it and it works pretty good as long as you export your video using the Uncompressed codec. Anything else to me looks too noisy, but that’s my preference.

July 26, 2006 at 3:07 pmI don’t know the answer to that question BUT I would have to say its probably up to the DVD’s copy protection whether you can import those or not.

July 26, 2006 at 6:58 pmwell it’d be helpful for people like me, in the educational field, that make “legit” compilations for professors to use in class.
anywho, i’ll just stick to the old method.
thanks for the great help everyone

July 26, 2006 at 7:36 pmGood Point. As an educator, the rules for fair use are much more lenient – unfortunately, the studios don’t care about education.

July 27, 2006 at 4:10 amits funny that they don’t care.
i edit at harvard, and i’ve compiled clips ranging from weird foreign films, trufeaut films, ridly scot films, and yes, even josie and the pussycats.
you never know what may end up in a classroom, lol.
