With the addition of P2 Log and P2Genie, I find it easier now to keep backups of the original MXF files.
I can quickly view all the clips via P2 Log and import only the ones I want to QuickTime. It’s extremely fast and I don’t have to try and load a bunch of QT files into the viewer or FCp to see the clips I want.
I use P2Genie to copy the P2 card to the HD then archive them on DVD’s.
I can quickly locate the right clips with these two programs.

It’s listed in the complete specs…
“17-inch MacBook Pro
One FireWire 400 port at up to 400 Mbps
One FireWire 800 port at up to 800 Mbps
Three 480-Mbps USB 2.0 ports
ExpressCard/34 slot” -
Does anyone know if there’s a way to save the settings to make them default? I like to export stills as a tiff file but everytime I start up FCP, I have to reset the settings.

Tiger may have made it easier to use but I’ve been burning both + and – DVD RW’s before Tiger’s release. Course, I was using Toast which may explain why nothing looks new to me. 🙂
I do know that Tiger is running much, much faster on my machine than Panther did.

April 30, 2005 at 5:26 pm in reply to: OT: Is this New? Tiger and DVD -R/RW +R/RWIt’s the drives Apple’s putting in now. My G4 PB 1.67GHz came with Panther and burns DVD -R/RW and +R/RW’s. Upgrading to Tiger didn’t add this.
But watching the HD trailers in Q7 is sure sweet. 🙂
The latest round of drives Apple’s putting in now support dual layer.–==Kevin==–

Why not just say that it’s your site and you have free uncompressed clips available for download as well as other royalty free stock footage available at a decent price?
I hate when people pretend they found a site when in fact it’s really their own.

You can try it as a demo to see if it works before you buy. Inexpensive, works good. Check out the examples.

Troy, Thanks for the info.
I do have a Sennheiser ME-66 microphone.
I guess I just need something to plug it into.
Has anyone heard anything about this cable adaptor? GarageBand Microphone Cable from Griffin?
I also have a Samson Mixpad 4 that I’ve never really messed with. Don’t know if that’s any good or not.I was just thinking with the optical audio plugin on the 17″ Powerbook there had to be a better way than doing it how I’d been doing it.
