The Xena HS was around long before premiere pro 2.0. In fact it is the same board once and still offered under the OEM section. Take a look at their comparison chart in the oem section.
https://www.aja.com/products_oem.html
The HS card was the original card offered by Cineform for their solution. Cineform has since moved to the Xena LH cards.
My question is why adobe chose to support the older card rather than the new? Did they buy the code from Cineform when Cineform moved forward? I am perplexed at the decisions made by Adobe. They just don’t seem to be capable of competing with FCP, or listening to there users. The whole Conforming Audio issue is just plain stupid. The whole broadcast world uses 48K 16bit audio, but premiere has to have 96k 24 bit. So I sit and wait and wait for Conforming Audio.

I see from the info on the web site that Combustion and DF are only supporte in The L’ cards. Are you going to make thos plugins available with the HS card?

Now how do we buy the Xenas HS? It is an OEM only card, and is not sold by any dealer. I already have a Xena SD Sitting around collecting dust, and would love to get it to work with premiere, but I know that is not possible.

January 9, 2006 at 4:00 am in reply to: Is the OpenHD certificate just a fake (for real 10 bit editting)? How are you using your xena card? I have one from a software vender who went belly up, and have kept there system around because the card is great, but I need somthing that is supported now. AJA states they will never develop premiere plugins on their own, so I am stuck in no mans land.

[Kevin Christopher] “In fact in their latest card offerings cineform can not use these cards becaus aja left out support in the drivers.”
I stand corrected Cineform does support the LH card. My original info was from AJA, but I see from cineforms web site that they do now support the LH card and LHe is pending.

The Xena HS is an OEM card only. AJA has no interest in supporting PC Editing apps. I have talked with them multiple times, and they only provide drivers for the card. They expect third party companies like cineform to write interfaces to premiere. In fact in their latest card offerings cineform can not use these cards becaus aja left out support in the drivers.
Bottom line is if you want to use a PC you are stuck with decklink.
I currently am stuck with an aja card I can not use because the Third party went belly up, and I no longer have PC support with out starting over again with cineform.

November 21, 2005 at 3:56 am in reply to: AJA opens their own can of worms – MachinaGreat looking app, now where do we get it? it is not in the Xena Support section.
Now How about some premiere pro drivers. I was orphaned with a Xena card on a PC editng app that is no longer supported, and would love to get some more use out of it. I currnetly only use it in AE, and I see Cumbustion is now supported. Where are the drivers for that? They are not in the 5.2 downloads. Is all of this in the rumored 6.0 drivers?
