I went to the AJA site just before the press release, and saw the new Machina
machine control software for capture and output that is independent of FCP or Premier, for the XENA card under XP. Well, YOU KNOW that EVERYONE who is doing graphics is now going to DEMAND the Machina application for Macintosh. I cannot begin to tell you how many After Effects guys on MAC say “I don’t want to buy FCP – I just want a little capture utility for the AJA products”.

I can only assume that we will see an app. like this for MAC before or at NAB2006.

very very cool. Some really nice powerful cards for Windows now. Very very nicely done AJA!

Yes, I could see a LOT of people, including myself, who could use a stand alone deck control app for graphics stations.

    Hi Bob-

We are on the verge (next few weeks) of releasing just such an app for Mac, called VTR Xchange…stay tuned.

What would be really trick is to roll in some of the functionality of Virtual VTR, allowing a KONA 2 station to act like a DDR/Video Server. I have yet to get VVTR to behave reliably with uncompressed HD media.

    David,

    What products have you tried?

Try taking a look at our product RaveHD.

Don’t want to come off strong BUT this is what we do, and have been doing for many years. We have begun putting stuff up on the site announcing and detailing our 2.0 release that will blow your socks off. This has been the release we have been working on since our early days on Troopers 2. Cool stuff like Audio and TC in the DPX header and everything is passed via a simple little protocal called XML and where else do you know of a product that you get the source code?

    Best of luck,

Please ad the ability to enter a reel number and save and open capture projects. One good thing about capturing in FCP for graphics people, is the FCP project, this allows you to delete the media and recapture. If people start capturing with no way to recover the media for changes after the media is deleted, they will have no way to rebuild the AE project.

    Hi-

I think you will be pleased, but note that VTR Xchange is a very different app than Machina, with a different feature set and focus. More details to follow upon its release.

    Thanks!

Great looking app, now where do we get it? it is not in the Xena Support section.

Now How about some premiere pro drivers. I was orphaned with a Xena card on a PC editng app that is no longer supported, and would love to get some more use out of it. I currnetly only use it in AE, and I see Cumbustion is now supported. Where are the drivers for that? They are not in the 5.2 downloads. Is all of this in the rumored 6.0 drivers?
