    I have Cineform 24p footage (Hi Def from JVC HD100) on my V8 time line. It’s a full length feature and I routinely make DVDs via DVDA 5 just using render to AC3 and DVDA MPG2 (you could also specify 24p in DVDA but I did 60i). The DVD looks great nearly as good as blu ray (which I also burned).
    That’s my 2 cents worth.

    Thank you for all your responses. I did check the sample rates. They were at 44.1 both on the cancorders and the Sony voice recorder.
    It is interesting that the Canon HG10, HV20, Sony HC1 and V1 all stay in sync. The Voice recorder does not.

    Try to save the subproject under a different name. Delete the old subproject from the main one and import the new one. I had something similar happen to me and the renaming worked.

    Definetly get a 4 core machine. It will handle AVCHD, whereas even fast dual cores will not (in my experience).

    I have very similar symptoms when I try to edit MP4 (.M2ts, .MTS).
    So, you may try taking out the mp4 segments.
    The only way I can edit MP4 files in V8b is by rendering it to MPG2 (DVDA ntsc video stream) and the sound I render to a WAV file and combine the MPG2 and Wav files on the timeline, and then they are editable. If your final product is SD dvd then it works and provides high quality.

    Go:

    Options->Preferences->General and check:Make Space Bar & F12 Play/Pause instead of Play/Stop

    Your courser will not jump to where you have started.

    In DVDA double click on the first chapter (not in Preview). This will open the the whole show in the editing window.
    On the upper right you find “Media Properities”.
    Open “Track Media”.

    You find “Video” and “Audio” When you click on these you find that you can delete and replace each track with a new MPG or AC3.

    In the Editing Window below you can move the track markers to new positions.
