I am using the Sam Mac Book Pro you are looking at. I have the 2.5 with 4 gig of ram and I use it to edit in the field as well as in my office. I think you will find that as long as you have adiquit (sp) storage you will be ok

I know that some people have had an issue with the latest drivers and needed to go back one rev. The only other thing I can think of is make sure the IoHD is powered on before restarting the computer

Like all of you I too will Miss him. I along with Jerry, tim and others were with him on Sunday and he was the Mike we all knew and loved.
His absence was noticed and we all missed him greatly. At least ther eis not a person I know who does not have their own personal memories and those will live on.
We will miss him.

Hi Guys,
While I do not know that it is 100% necessary to do seperate boot drives for my studio it seems to work best. I like to keep FCS by itself and Pro Tools by itself. and since at the time 2 seperate machines was not an option this works best for me.
All my “working media” resides on a 4tb sata raid so all is accesable. to date this has worked great for me. I hope this helps you out

How long have you had your K-Box? AJA prides itself on it’s customer Support. Call Tech Support and I believe you will be pleasntly suprised,that is if it is a non working or defective cable.

how you doing?
I do basically just that. I have 2 boot drives on my Mac Pro oe specifically for Pro tools and one for Final cut. I cut all my audio in Pro tools and then when I need it I can import into Final Cut. I have an LhE card and an IoHD and to date have not had an issue

There are already (acording to folks) 3rd party folks wanting in on products. If you want a bag you can use a bag meant for the Sure FP-33 it will fit no worries and give you the extra room you seek

Editing on a Mac Book Pro is something you can definatly do. I do it all the time.
IF it were me I’d look at either the 2.66 in either the 15″ or 17″ depending on my budget. I use a 15 and I’m quit happy. the 17″ will now hold up to 8gig of ram and that is a bonus. I am using 4 in my MacBook Pro with a 320 gig 7200 rpm hard drive and an IoHD and and external Sata drive and happy with the results.
