OK, I think I have it…. open only those sequences that need rendering and change auto render in prefs to ‘open sequences only’ and change wait time to 1 minute. Sorry to take up bandwidth with my internal dialouge.

OK, but can you edit with it as well, in real time, without any hardware assistance – and if so, do you get the same level of real-time functionality I’ve come to expect from using the dv-25 (SD) codec?

Thanks, but already purchased DVDxDV – and very happy. Can’t see much difference between this and going via analog. And so much more convienient! As to the search terms mentioned earlier, well, just never think anyone is going to label their questions as logically as I expect – oh man of little faith, it seems. (But also much bombarded with headings like “I NEED HELP”, “IT DOESN”T WORK” and my pet hate “ITS FOUR IN THE MORNING AND THE CLIENT IS COMING IN AT NINE” etc. etc. etc…..)

    Best to all,

    Ken.

Thought it might be, but couldn’t bring up anything in my searches using VOB as the keyword.

    Thanks, will check these out,

Sound Studio 3 can do all this in software, ie make an ‘analog’ recording direct from itunes.

Ken (under the blanket BBC licence).

Upgrade from G4 to G5 now? Surely only if your machine was broken would you do that, with the new Intel machine not that far away? I’m surprised Apple are still selling G5’s in large numbers, or am I missing something?

Absolutely check in the DVDSP forum – but my understanding is that the stretching is done by the viewing screen (eg select widescreen on the TV remote). There is a way to embed a command to tell the TV to do this automatically (some cameras do this in the recording process) whether DVDSP can do this in post I don’t know.
