DVD to DV
Posted by Ken Pugh on November 9, 2005 at 12:55 pmI have a DVD (not commercial) that I want to use in an edit. Rather than play the DVD out via S-Video and record into FCP via an S-Video to DV converter is there some way to do this in softwate. EG go from VOB to DV?
Thanks,
Ken.

Thanks, will check these out,
Ken.

For grins, I just did a search for “DVD to FCP” (which is the subject name that you chose yourself for this thread) and netted a HUGE number of posts.
It helps to try a couple of searches for common terms.

November 9, 2005 at 3:23 pmMy preference for this is MpegStreamclip (that Matte mentioned),
https://www.alfanet.it/squared5/mpegstreamclip.htmlyou can drag a vob right into it.

November 9, 2005 at 4:56 pmThanks, but already purchased DVDxDV – and very happy. Can’t see much difference between this and going via analog. And so much more convienient! As to the search terms mentioned earlier, well, just never think anyone is going to label their questions as logically as I expect – oh man of little faith, it seems. (But also much bombarded with headings like “I NEED HELP”, “IT DOESN”T WORK” and my pet hate “ITS FOUR IN THE MORNING AND THE CLIENT IS COMING IN AT NINE” etc. etc. etc…..)
Best to all,
Ken.
