  • I’m not sure of what you mean by “like one minute.”

I always assign my menus to hold after 15 seconds. In the case that I am producing for a client, I offer all of the options and allow them to choose auto-activate or hold.

As I stated, I don’t incorporate sub-titles, unless there is no English dialogue, which is nearly never.

My recommendations would be fruitless for your need. My original suggestion addressed a situation that it seems, for you, is an anomaly arising from some other condition aside from setting a start point.

  • I have no issues burning discs with menus, however, I never use subtitles.

  • Yes, this is a small issue resolved by knowing the workspace.

With your DVD authoring app open, load your prepared project.

In the Project Overview console (the area where your file structure is displayed, normally in the top left of the workspace) click Menu in the folder tree, or whatever you want the video to start with.

Now, in the tool bar directly above your Project Overview, there are four icons. One of them is a purple square with a white star in it. Clicking this icon sets your chosen project start in the Project Overview console. You will notice, in your case, before you click it that your actual video file has the same icon, smaller, displayed to the left of it’s file name in the folder tree.

If you cursor hover the box/star icon in the tool bar, “Set Disc Start” will display as a tool tip.

    That should help.

  • Jim, I was shown the solution on the SONY site after we had evaluated the issue through many E-Mails. It was originally posted from a SONY employee/tech back in 2009, so they knew about it and DID make a move to help. A lady on the tech desk helped me with it. It took about a week to get it all sorted, and I went with the uninstall/install with the registry clean, but the missing file solution would have worked also, but I didn’t have a second computer with the same apps installed. I didn’t even have a second computer.

I printed the two pages of the registry solution, but I can perform the operation without any prompts.

it was a frustrating situation. I had no jobs waiting, but I periodically test all that I use in my business just so I don’t run into a surprise when I don’t need one.

I use a Mac now but have to maintain a Windows 7 partition for the SONY apps, which I don’t like doing because it involves Microsoft products, which I have never ever seen operate consistently well.

Glad you got back on track.

Uninstall Vegas. Clean the registry. Reboot, reinstall, update. Clean the registry again, reboot. Try editing again. I don’t know if that will solve the problem but it would have been my first step.

  • Looks normal to me for rendering to HD as well as the render time of two hours.

  • An .iso can also be used as a virtual disc on a computer. I use them as virtual BluRay discs, play through an HDMI connection to my 52″ HD screen and get excellent presentation through the process in my home.

Undoubtedly correct. I produce domestic products so scripting is way down there close to the bottom for me. Sorry. Just an uninformed suggestion. My bad.

SONY DVD Architect is very apt to do what you are asking. I use it exclusively for DVD and BD. You can add a chapter page accessible from the main menu.
