I haven’t conformed before, so thank you for clarifying that for me.

Is there an alternative software to Cinema Tools? Ours is having problems at the moment.

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I’ve never used Cinema Tools before- if I transcode the 50FPS footage to 25, won’t it lose its slow motion effect?

    Thanks,

    Kelly

I seem to have fixed the problem. I dragged the minsys.plist onto the desktop, restarted the computer and now everything works again.

The weird thing is now both (see below) are missing from my Preferences folder. FCP is working though. How is this possible?

    com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist.bak

    com.apple.RegFinalCutStudios.plist

Basically the guy flips in real life in the kitchen, and the camera stays still. In post we flip the frame whilst the guy is mid air so when he lands the kitchen is upside down.

Thank you for your great advice, I’ve passed it onto my producer. I’m just an editor so today they’ve decided to hire a post guy to work on the rotoscopping since its quite complicated . It’s good to know how to do it though, so thank you for your thorough answer!

    Hi Joseph,

Would you mind elaborating on what you mean by ‘Fill in the blanks’?

I think the shot is a Mid and not a wide so there’s not a lot of room for cropping.

The problem is that it was shot in a kitchen so there will be cupboards bordering the frame.

Maybe I can composite mode it over something a similar color so the blend can hide the corners?

I guess sometimes this is the best way to learn!

    Thanks,

What would be the best way to fix this then?

Because I made cuts to the nested sequences its going to be really difficult replicating those cuts in the original audio.

Do I just resize the frame to fit 1920x 1080 within the sequence? Or can I edit as is and then export the video at 1920×1080?

    Thanks
