Batch Transcode question
Hi there,
I have always transcoded my footage to Apple prores (HQ) through MPEG streamclip, however I was wondering if there is a more reliable program for me to use?
I’m editing my first commercial and have to transcode all the Alexa footage tomorrow to Prores (HQ). Is MPEG Steamclip acceptable, or should I be using something better?

I use 5DtoRGB but it is slow. Why not just log and transfer?

What Rich said. FCP should log and transfer this footage fine, no external converter needed. And this way, it can track the footage better.

Resolve is also a very good choice.
it also gives you the options of masking & burnt-in metadata if required,
plus it’ll sync to audio if you have accurate TC.like Mpeg Streamclip, it’s free.
