    Hi David,

Unfortunately it keeps crashing on me. I tried breaking up the footage into smaller sequences, but its not working.

The footage keeps making this loud buzzing noise and glitches right before fcp crashes. Could this be a problem with the hard drive?

I have all three drives linked up to my computer by firewire 800s. My footage is prores HQ. Maybe the footage is too big for the harddrive/fcp connection to handle?

    Actually there’s a problem.

By speeding up the track, the singers voice sounds like the chipmunks, which is not good.

Is there a way to change the speed so this doesn’t happen?

I understand 50 fps would be 200% sped up, but what would 30fps be?

Yeah the strange thing is that the aspect ratio in photoshop is 1920 x 1080 and the sequence is set to 1280×720.

Is it because I’m scaling down that it’s affecting the quality?

    Thanks for your help.

Is there a way to turn the black into an alpha channel? I only have two days to edit the entire video so roto brushing is just not an option unfortunately…

    That’s what I thought.

I do know after effects so I might have to do something in there but I don’t really have the time.

The head on shot is pretty basic, so I guess my best bet is to mask around the artist while she sings, and put my background behind her?

Basically the artist was shot in front of a black sheet, stretched tightly.

I’ve chroma keyed in Final Cut before, which has the clear green or blue option.

However, looking at it now there is no black option, or black gradient to select. I’ve tried changing the composite modes but that doesn’t help either.

    Any advice?

I’m pretty sure it’s a plug in? It says I need a serial number to use it…
