  • Editing with different frame rates

Posted by Kelly Armstrong on January 6, 2014 at 2:27 pm

    Hi there,

I’m editing a music video and I have two different frame rates to work with- 25FPS & 50FPS.

Most of the 50fps is just slow motion dancing which I’ll cut away to, although theres a few lip syncs with the 50fps.

I’d like to set my edit to 25FPS, but how will the 50FPS footage work with that?

    Thanks,

    Kelly

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I’ve never used Cinema Tools before- if I transcode the 50FPS footage to 25, won’t it lose its slow motion effect?

    Thanks,

    Kelly

I haven’t conformed before, so thank you for clarifying that for me.

Is there an alternative software to Cinema Tools? Ours is having problems at the moment.

Quick note, Cinema Tools only works on full frame media like ProRes. XDCam, h.264, ect will not work in Cinema Tools. If you must conform and transcode, Compressor can do this in one step.
