    Gosh, really? I guess I’ll just take it to the PC side and use Virtual Dub and avsp. Final Cut Pro OR compressor are so lame when it comes to Processing and Encoding a delivered file. I feel like they don’t really let you get into the nitty gritty. Thanks for your response to my post though.

    If you can get onto a PC try using Virtual Dub V 1.8.6 or 1.8.8 (they’re free) open up your mov file with Avisynth (.avsp)

    They have a tfm() code (tritical field matcher) which does a hell of a job removing interlacing. Then you have to decimate to drop that one duplicate frame for every 5 frames.

    Here’s the code I use:

    tfm(mode=0,display=false,mi=80)

    tdecimate()

    or if you want to get fancy:

    tfm(mode=0,display=false,cthresh=2,blockx=8,blocky=8,mi=16)

    tdecimate()

    avisynth.org or doom.net can show you more than the creative cow forums on this.

    Good luck!

  • hey victor, thanks for your response.

    i do render all, as well as individually. it seemed more like a bug than a rendering issue.

    I just had this issue last week with the 5dmkII…convert all your files to pro res 422, you can batch process in apple compressor. drag and drop your files in and select the appropriate pro res compression then eat your favorite snack. 🙂

    for all of you who are trying to figure this out I found the solution:

    Here is the trick:

    * You must FIRST drag your source media into the batch window
    * THEN drag in your settings and destinations
    * click on Submit, and you will be prompted for the batch name, and you’re good to go.

    If you do it the other way around, you get the “Empty Batch Name” error.

    Other compression products, like Sorenson Squeeze, let you drag in your settings and media in any order you choose, but Compressor is apparently more picky. Drag in your source media first, then add your settings, and see if that works. It worked for me.
