Yeah I have been using MPEG actually and like it. My question is mostly for the sake of outputting DVDs. When you use MPEG is it the same quality as if you captured?

So if I change the output in the Kona’s control panel these same cables will work for a composite signal? I’m looking at these cables on AVCables.net called

SONICWAVE “RCA” TO BNC COMPONENT VIDEO CABLE
    https://www.av-cable.net/ComponentVideo/Component-video-cable-rca-bnc.html?gclid=CI370P6PuZMCFSEbagodfkEDDA

I’m confused because they are called component video cables. Are these wrong or can they run both types of signals? I obviously don’t know much about this.

Thanks. The manuals still recommend you convert but I’m glad to know you don’t have to. And it won’t mess you up in DVD Studio Pro either if you have different sample rates?

This was happening to me constantly until I reinstalled FCP and it’s never happened since. So I’m also sorry I can’t help more, but maybe yet another install will do the trick. When it was happening to me I noticed this specific problem in a lot of forums with no answers besides reinstall.

Here are the instructions I used to uninstall Compressor before reinstalling FCP:

    Good luck

You’ve probably already tried this, but did you check your capture settings?

Uncheck “Abort Capture on dropped frames” in the General tab of User Preferences.

And if it was the drive thing that the other person suggested, could you post a response about the solution? Just for my own curiosity.

    Good luck

After you convert in i-Tunes and import you should also make sure the sample rate matches your sequences. Usually (at least in my experience) CD’s are 41 kHz and your sequences and media are 48.

Unfortunately I have no access to a camera or cards now.

    Any other tips?

Is there some other software that can turn the files into quicktimes without FCP’s log and transfer window?

You mean you’re clicking the track in the timeline so that the Source and Destination boxes are separated? That’s how I usually do it. You can also lock the track with the little lock beside the track number.
