Take a look at Dan Ebberts site. He has something like that in his AE Expressions Lab:

You can click on his picture as well and find links to tutorials here at the cow as well as a link to his site.

I can get there from my mac, but not my pc.

Well…. now, I can get to both sites from both machines. I have two ISP as it’s really important that Ron and I have access, so we have both cable and dsl since the cable is sometimes flakey. Because my pc is connected through dsl, I though perhaps it was something in the settings of of the provider — which it may still be if you can’t connect.

But for now, I have access to both sites.

    [robertmro] “My apologies to all.”

No need to apologize. We’re all learning here.

[robertmro] “Sorry to waste your time.

You haven’t wasted anyone’s time. You proved that my directions weren’t very good, so I tried to make them better. If no one had said anything, then we would have all stumbled around and I wouldn’t have known the instructions were unclear. Hopefully, the picture has helped.

So, thank you for asking the question. Please don’t hesitate to ask others. We’re glad you’re here.

It was confusing. I’m sorry I didn’t explain it well enough.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words — hopefully, my graphic shows it better than I explained it.

And don’t hesitate to write me if I’ve left a step out.

Some people in our expressions forum were having problems with the Mac instructions, so I’ve made a little graphic. Hopefully, this will help. I’ll also link it in to the tutorial page as well. This is kind of hard to understand for us mac people — I know we’re not used to all these invisible files. Jerzy didn’t know and I searched long and hard for the instructions.

    Here’s the graphic:

You’ll get a warning when you try to save the new file after you add the xml — it says something like “This is a read only file, do you really want to overwrite the file?” I clicked yes and so far I’ve been okay.

    …..aahhhhhhhhhhhhahhhhhhhhh….

    Just kidding.

Hope this helps. If it doesn’t let me know.

[moldyboot] “select the ae application and control-click (or right-click) and select show package contents.”

Is that not what I said?
Right click (or control-click) on the After Effects CS3 application name in your Application folder. choose ‘Show Package Contents’

[robertmro] “Can someone tell me where to find it?”

Did you read the instructions on the tutorial page? Just above where you download the presets?

    Here they are again:

Unpack it to a convenient place
    • Right click (or control-click) on the After Effects CS3 application name in your Application folder. choose ‘Show Package Contents’
    • Navigate to the Resources folder and locate the PresetEffects.xml file. Make a backup copy of this file.
    • Open PresetEffects.xml file in any text editor
    • Open the XML file provided in the package that you
