    CE Pixel Sampler

In this video tutorial, Jerzy Drozda Jr (aka Maltaannon) demonstrates how you can simplify the keying process, trigger expression events to control layers of your choice, and even do an automatic collision detection. Possibilities are endless.

Click on the link above to find Jerzy’s latest tutorial and his Custom Effects.

Maltaannon you are relentless. Producing one tutorial after another. Do you have a life?

Pixel Sampler will be very useful.

    Thanks.

PS. If any Mac users are wondering where their PresetEffects.xml is hiding:
    CTRL-click the AE CS3 app
    choose ‘Show Package Contents’
    Contents > Resources > PresetEffects.xml

Open in TextEdit and override the warning.

    Thanks again M

When Jerzy signed up to be part of the COW, one of the questions on his 14 page volunteer agreement and police background check report, was “Do you have a life?” He answered, “No.”

In support of this, he sent us a rather frightening picture of himself in a sort-of 60’s bad science fiction movie kinda thing that had him hooked up to hoses, wires and all these flashing lights and bellows and things. On his head was what looked like a metal mixing bowl with wires and coils that made me think of the old Fritz Lang Metropolis sci-fi silent film classic. He said that that bowl was the secret of the level of quality of his tutorials as it put him in direct contact with his cranial powers — which do indeed appear formidable, given the content that ensues.

People make sacrifices for their art and also for the community, Jerzy has made the supreme sacrifice, much to the moos of a grateful bovine nation.

Best regards from a morning cup of currently caffeinating,

    Ron Lindeboom

Thanks everyone for your support, and thanks Ron for laying out so nice from where my creative juices come from 😉

Oh. and btw. I’m looking for a Mac programmer, it may me AppleScript programmer, or maybe an AppleScript emulator for windows. I’d like to release Mac installer for CustomEffects, so you wouldn’t have to install the presets manually.

And since I don’t have a life, I’ve started a “maltaannon’s hotline”. You can now call me when you need help in topics related to After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, compositing and 3D in general… or when you simply need someone to talk to 😉 You can find more info on my website.

And btw… some of you are complaining that the site is down. Well, it was for two days, but that was like a few weeks ago. The funny thing is that people still say that the site is down, but it seems that it works for some of you, because I’m constantly getting comments and emails (and I’d like to that you for that)

    Thank you once again everybody!
    Take care!
    Happy AfterEffect’ing 😉

Good Stuff! You should get an award for that. The only downside is that Suzy isn’t included as part of the package.

The instructions for installing on a mac, are listed on the index page of the tutorial just above the download but thanks for the confirmation.

I’m doing a lot of keying at my job, and this will be very usefull (pixel sampler). This is one the most cool thing I have learned in a video tutorial. Not only that, but you are giving us the presets for free!! Thank you very much! We need more people like you in the industry!

I didn’t include Suzy, or any other footage, because then the project file would be like 150MB. I’m sure you understand that.

But if you’ve followed the tutorial, than probably you have AE CS3, and if you do, you probablu have Production Premium. If you do, you can find “PAL Suzy Medium.avi” in the Sample Clips folder of Adobe Ultra installation dir.

Thanks for your support everybody. Stay tuned, and if you have some free time don’t be afraid to visit me on maltaannon.com and leave a comment there.

    Cheers

I’m very happy that this preset helps in your work. I’m already planning an update for it, since I forgot to include the most obvious thing – measuring the Alpha value of a pixel 😉

So stay tuned and wait for the update.
    Cheers
