August 20, 2007 at 6:39 pm in reply to: Imagineer Systems forum

We have had a number of people ask us to reinstate the Mokey/Monet/Mocha, etc., forum. It seems that many more people are now using the Imagineer tools than before. Even Aharon Rabinowitz wrote and said if we would reinstate it, he’d host. With an offer like that, how could we say no?

So, the Mocha, Monet, etc., forum is now live again.

    Kindest regards,

[mark raudonis] “Make a police report. I don’t care what they told you. You have a witness to this action. That’s all you need.”

Don’t count on these people as witnesses. It sounds like they’re just as terrified of this man as you were, but they’ve chosen to stay with him–probably out of fear.

[Mark Suszko] “The ads on the left side got bigger, I think. Which pays the bills, so it’s hard to complain, except for the ProMax Fibremax ad that has had “simultaneously” spelled wrong for over a month; that makes me nuts. 😉

I have let the appropriate people know of the misspelling. Hopefully, we’ll get a new one soon.

In the meantime, just consider that we’re testing everyone to see if they notice the ads. And you did. Mark you win.

Personally, I thought all of the guys who posted were very balanced. I don’t usually get into these frays, but I do read them.

    However, here’s the bottom line:
We have had VERY few women volunteer to be leaders here. The men have. They give freely of their time, communicating ideas and helping many who may even be their competitors.

The few women who have volunteered, eventually get too busy and leave. The only woman that has volunteered and actually has participated over the years, is Marisu Fronc. Thank you for not leaving me all alone with the boys, Marisu. ;o)

I meet a lot of women at trade shows and when I give them the spiel in answer to “So, what is CreativeCOW?” most often the reply is what can you do for me? Or what do you pay? I have never gotten that response from a man I meet at the trade shows.

And this is how the leadership team is selected:
I watch for people who are answering lots of questions — with good, helpful answers. A lot of members have user names that don’t point to the sex of the individual, so when I write them to invite them to be leaders, I don’t even know if they’re male or female.

Occasionally, people write me to ask if they can be leaders — and I check the numbers — if they actively participate, then they’re considered, if I have a leadership position available. It’s not just about numbers though, because I take a look at the kinds of answers that people give. Are they helpful or are they obnoxious and rude to people?

And people over the years have come and gone. Most of those people that are up top in this forum have been with us for years. Many have supported us over the years and we’ve come to be personal friends.

People who get busy and stop participating are usually removed after they’ve been inactive for a few months. If there are extenuating circumstances and we know about it, and they want to stay, then accommodations are often made.

But everyone has to respect one another, that is the Number One rule around here.

    Well….

I thought it was funny, even if everyone else is ignoring you Mike. Have a good weekend.

  • Jerzy informed me that he had a hard drive failure on his website — those things happen. He’s working to get his site back up though, so check back.

  • I’m not really sure why you’re so upset and disappointed.

We like promoting our members and leaders. It’s our way of giving back to them. Jon’s a leader in the COW and a long time member and when his PR person sent me the press release, I put it up. I’m also a subscriber of the podcast, because I find it really interesting.

We recently ran an article from Walter Biscardi letting our members know how to write a press release, just so that our members could let us know what they’re up to. We like to know and we like to promote it. I think it fosters community.

You’ve been a long time member, feel free to send me your press release. If it causes, every Joe Blow out there with a podcast to also send me a press release, then so be it. I’ll gladly wade through Joe’s press release about whatever and pick out the things that I think might be of interest to our members.
