Yes downgrading to QT 6.5 solves the problem. This problem is persistant on Windows machines as well.

Certain features are not available in the RT drop down depending on your sequence presets. FCP RT loves editing DV as this is it’s native offline set-up. What codec is your sequence? -J

OK. And formatting on your Mac lets you recognize the drive on a PC? I have formatted my drive using the disk utility and it will not be recognized by a PC. Is there a step or option that I am missing in the OSX Disk Utility? If I am to format my drive using the Disk Utility in OSX then no motter what format, i.e. OSX, or OSX Journaled, the the PC, of course, does not recognize it. If you have a solution, then please treat me like a 3 year old, and spell it out for me. Thank again. -J

I’ve ahd the exact sasme issue with my G4 but no problems yet with my G5.

I was able to correct the problem by plugging the optical mouse into the tower itself instead of the keyboard USB plug.
