If I format the drive using FAT32 do I need to do a “Quick Format” or a “Complete Format”. And does it even matter?

Yes, precisely. I am working solely in the DV-NTSC codec and most all of my clips will be shorter the 20-30 seconds. Thanks for your input smooth. Have a great day. -J

No I can’t print to tape. I don’t have a deck. I am dragging everything onto an external Firewire Drive.

Yup, that’s what I thought. I guess it’s in a gradual “phasing out” period. Spotlight certainly does a bettefr job anyways. Cheers. -J

Raj, thanks. I was just checking the Decklink cards. It seems that they offer much more bang for my buck. I was thinking about the Decklink Pro however. The Extreme supports both analog and digital throughput and I will only be working digitally. Thanks again for the info. -J
