sound componet error
Keep getting this error when trying to scrub the audio track for timing a move. After Effects error; opening sound componet (-2166).
Running G5 OS10.3.9 AE is 5.5 and Quicktime is 7.0.4
Any help appreciated.

I think you need to downgrade QuickTime to 7.0 or 6.5. Apple dropped support for some older API’s with 7.0.1 and later, which left AE out in the cold. (Upgrading to AE7 could also fix the problem.)

Yes downgrading to QT 6.5 solves the problem. This problem is persistant on Windows machines as well.
