  • Thank you Michael, your workaround certainly works, but I feel very handy the copy/paste thing and if it is still there it would be fine if it worked properly.
Anyone has noticed that after last updated of PPro and Ae the copy/paste stopped working properly.
I’m on osx el capitan with ae 13.7 e ppro
    Thanks!

    Thank you Eli,

actually after your reply, i’ve found that “disable masterclip effects” do the trick.
It seems that Premiere applies some sort of autoLUT to clips from certain cameras.
    Problem solved!

    thanks for answers,
It’s Cinema 11.5, i’ve found that increasing iterations to about 35 solve the problem 🙂

I’ ve got the same problem building up a comp with 3d layers in Draft 3d.
The workaround i’ve found is to export leaving Draft 3d enabled and full resolution, changing the render setting>quality from “best” to “current settings”.

Another possible way (if you have enough ram) could be to RAM PREVIEW the whole comp, the go to COMPOSITION>Save Ram Preview.

actually the hardest thing is to keep the expression simple.

    Thanks again,

The best way to get your edited footage from Fcp to After effects is probably Automatic Duck.
    https://www.automaticduck.com/products/

You can find a free alternative here:
    https://www.popcornisland.com/after-effects/final-cut-2-after-effects/
this is a very useful tool to translate the xml exported by final cut into an after-effects-friendly java language.
Not as powerful as Automatic Duck but it is free.

For the wire removal thing, you can just split your footage at the frame you need and apply the effect just on that frame.

You could put all your clips one after another, parent them to a null object, and animate just the position of the null.
All your clips will follow the null.

Even if mp3s can be imported in FCP sequences, i’ ve experienced problems trying to trimming them after the render, and the same problems occured even with AIFF file encoded with a wrong properties ( i.e. 44.100 KHz instead of 48 KHz).
The file plays good quite a bit but at sometimes it jumps randomly like a playhead on a scratched record.

August 30, 2007 at 6:44 am in reply to: creating a letterboxed DVD from FCP

i think you should create a16:9 anamorphic sequence in FCP, put your 4:3 video in, then scale it up to fill the width of the 16:9. (you could use some scaling plug in instead of FCP own motion tab, like red giant instant hd maybe, for bette r scaling results.)
then export the sequence in a 16:9 video.
put it in DVD Studio Pro track and in the attribute panel select Display mode > 16:9 -letterbox

Doing so your video fits a 16:9 screens without distorsions and is letterboxed in 4:3 screens
